In respect to oil candles, Borosilicate is resistant to very high temperatures, far exceeding that experienced at the bottom of a flame.
The wick holder beneath the flame achieves a maximum temperature of around 150 degrees centigrade, where borosilicate can stand a sudden change in temperature of up to 1500 degrees.
